The ships will first be noticed only a few days before they arrive. The astronomers that will discover them will think they are just an undiscovered group of comets - at least at first. When they start to change their trajectories the astronomers will begin to realize they aren’t comets. By then it will be too late to do much of anything. The next day, the ships will have arrived. Ships as large as cities. Ships nearly identical to each other as if made on the same assembly line. There will be over a hundred ships that come. There was no talking in the car. Jack had asked a couple more questions early on, but was now silent. He had learned they were driving towards a farmhouse in the country. They should be safe there because Fae shouldn’t be able to cross the threshold. That was something Edward had forgotten. Fae couldn’t cross the thresholds of homes without the owner’s permission. But some Fae could force their way across weaker thresholds. They were kind of vague on what was a weak threshold. Jack had also learned that there was no sure way of knowing a Fairy past burning it with iron. These are all right, but only in part. Dreams are so much more than that. People have thought many things of death. They have thought it an end, a beginning, one step in a continuing journey. These are all right, but only in part. Death is so much more than that. What people don’t understand is that dreaming and dying are the same thing; the only difference is that you come back from dreaming. When you die, when you dream, you enter the Other.
